Event Summary

On the afternoon and during the evening hours of October 18, 2007 a strong low pressure system centered over Minnesota touched off supercell thunderstoms throughout Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, Kentucky, Teneessee and all the way down to the panhandle of Florida. Many of these storms produced tornadoes, with a total of around 35 tornadoes nationwide.

Two people died in a EF-2 tornado which touched down in Williamston Michigan around 2228 EDT. There was also another fatality reported near Kalkaska, MI bringing the total count to 3 in the state of Michigan.
